Thanksgiving Sides: Roasted Brussel Sprouts

The turkey might be the main event during Thanksgiving, but it’s the sides that do all the heavy lifting. If you are looking for a tasty vegetable recipe, here is a quick roasted brussel sprouts recipe to try.

  • Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds Brussels sprouts, cut in half
    4 ounces diced pancetta
    1/4 cup olive oil
    Kosher salt
  • Ground black pepper
    1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Start with Brussels sprouts on a sheet pan, then add pancetta, olive oil, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, and 1/2 teaspoon pepper, toss until the Brussels sprouts are completely covered. Then spread the veggies over the pan and roast the Brussels sprouts for 20 ish minutes. Once they are done, drizzle the sprouts with balsamic vinegar, taste and then serve while still hot.

Father’s Day Gift Ideas To Try In Santa Ana

Father’s Day is only a week away and now is the time to start searching for a gift. Shopping for Mother’s Day is a bit easier, as the most typical gift is flowers. Outside of ties, there are no standard gifts to get dad. If you are looking to get something special and meaningful this year, here are three great ideas to try.

Dollar Shave Club: if your dad has a beard, why not go with a membership to the Dollar Shave Club? The prices are affordable and the shaving kits make excellent gifts.

Bluetooth speaker: if you have a tech savvy dad, there might be no better gift than a set of Bluetooth speakers. The speakers range from $30 up to a few hundred dollars, but can be moved around and used in a variety of ways.

Liquor holder: for the sophisticated dad, buy a glass liquor holder, the kind that are used in movies, and let dad feel classy when taking a drink.

3 Easy Summer Décor Hacks

Now that summer is here (or almost here) we can start adding a bit of spice into your living space without breaking the bank. Summer is the most festive time of the year, so why not bring that joy into your apartment? Here are three easy summer décor hacks to try.

Floral Plates: if you can’t make a huge purchase, just go small instead. Floral plates added a fun pop of color and look wonderful when set on the dinner table.

Re-paint a coffee table: most apartment managers will not let you paint, but what you can do is repaint a coffee table instead. Try sanding it down and then repaint it a bright summer color—your coffee table will look like new.

Marker Dyed Pillows:  buy white or tan throw pillows and color pieces of them with a marker. Put some alcohol on a rag and use it to spread the marker around and cause it to streak in a tie dyed form.
